UPDATED: August 21, 2023

These guidelines are intended to help families who plan on burying one of their loved ones in Glen Rest Cemetery.

ALL BURIALS MUST BE APPROVED AND RECORDED BY THE KERRVILLE PERPETUAL CARE CEMETERY ASSOCIATION BEFORE A BURIAL TAKES PLACE IN GLEN REST CEMETERY.

If the burial is with a casket a funeral home must be employed.  Three recommended funeral homes in Kerrville are

Grimes Funeral Chapels

728 Jefferson (830)257-4544

 Kerrville Funeral Home

1221 Junction Highway (830)895-5111

 Wright’s Funeral Parlor

1913 Junction Highway (830)895-3323

If the burial is a cremation a grave preparer must be employed.  The recommended grave preparer is

   Glen Baxter--RGB Resources  (830)928-2554

The number of burials allowed per site are:

One casket and one cremation or spreading of ashes

Four cremations or spreading of ashes

In any case (casket, cremation or the spreading of ashes) a temporary marker must be placed on the grave site at the time of burial.    The cost of a temporary marker is approximately $25.  Then a stone monument/headstone must replace the temporary marker as soon as  possible.

Recommended monument companies are

 Hill Country Monument Sales

3250 Fredricksburg Rd, Kerrville, TX 78028

(830)257-6613

Tyler Baxter--RGB Resources   510 Rodriquez St, Kerrville, TX 78028   (830)928-5552

The Kerrville Perpetual Care Cemetery Association (KPCCA) which operates Glen Rest Cemetery charges a $100 gate/maintenance fee for each burial.   This charge should be paid to the funeral home or directly to KPCCA.

The KPCCA must be informed about all burials—location and if a casket or cremation will be utilized.
